Food For Now: At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy Launches Industry-First Six-Month Online Diplomas

Singapore’s leading culinary school for culinary, pastry and baking skills and food & beverage management education, At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy, has launched Singapore’s first-ever Online Diplomas in three tracks, Culinary Arts, Pastry & Bakery, and Food & Beverage Management. At-Sunrice’s pedagogy of study and apprenticeship has been a best practice in Singapore and in this industry-first initiative, the sixmonth diplomas are digitally delivered with a flexible learning structure, allowing students to work and study at the same time.

The online Diplomas are a specially designed six-month blended learning programme consisting of synchronous and asynchronous self-directed online study. The online Diplomas comprise an integrated and broad-based training approach which includes soft-skills components necessary to deepen and broaden specific jobs and occupations. The programme content of the online Diplomas follows the 18-month on-site progression track and is benchmarked against the Food Services Skills Framework of SkillsFuture Singapore. Furthermore, At-Sunrice prepares its students for the world stage with its globally focused curriculum that has educated students from over 32 countries. Graduates of the online Diplomas will receive globally recognised Worldchef certificates that will offer a lending edge to them as they look forward to careers that span the borders.

The online Diplomas are suited for career switchers or in-service industry workers such as Chefs or service professionals who would like to upgrade themselves and are concerned that the learning schedule will not fit into their working schedule. Students also have the option to secure a job with reputable F&B establishments while enrolling with At-Sunrice for the online Diplomas, ensuring that they remain employed while pursuing the programme.

For the launch of the online Diplomas, students who are enrolled will have the coveted opportunity to seek employment with three of Singapore’s reputable F&B establishments and understudy seasoned Chefs while acquiring the relevant culinary skills.
