Food For Now: Enjoy Hokkien Noodles and ‘High Coffee’ at Ebi Bar

Ebi Bar, the mod-Sin prawn noodle restaurant located at B1 of Cuppage Plaza, is looking to celebrate the year-end on a high. Ebi Bar will be rolling out a series of updates that will have diners coming back for more.

The first of these is that its ever-popular Hokkien Noodles will now be permanently available for dine-in, takeaway and delivery. Ebi Bar will also be launching an afternoon tea menu named “High-Coffee” in collaboration with Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee, available in December. Lastly, Ebi Bar will be rolling out a Happy Days promotion, where a pint of craft beer is just $9.90 all December (originally $14.00), as well as a new line of snacks. With these new items, there will always be a reason to head to Ebi Bar, make merry with friends and family into the festive season.

Ebi Bar’s Hokkien Noodles ($12.90/$19.80/$68.80) has been much-sought-after since its introduction in August 2021. After repeated calls from regulars and new customers, Ebi Bar will be making it a permanent item, available for dine-in, delivery, and takeaway (while stocks last). Ebi Bar’s Hokkien Noodles uses a 1960s recipe that uses sea cucumbers, an ingredient that only towkays of that era could afford. The noodles are wok-fried twice to bring out that fragrant wok-hey flavour and are then simmered in Ebi Bar’s rich umami broth. The dish is then topped with ikura for an added crunch. The $19.80 version of the dish comes served with a pair of Signature “Chao Da” (Charred) Ebi prawns & $68.80 version is a family pack which feeds 3 to 4, and includes baby abalones.

Enjoy weekend afternoon tea with a twist with Ebi Bar’s High-Coffee ($21.90 per pax, min. 2 pax)! This special menu is a coffee and food pairing created in collaboration with specialty coffee house, Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee. Diners will enjoy savoury and sweet items, along with bespoke coffee offerings from Tiong Hoe. Tuck into the savoury items, which features delights such as its ever-popular Hokkien Noodles, now a mainstay in the main menu, Laksa, Kueh Pie Tee and the new Mala Shrimp Dumplings, which are yummy poached shrimp dumplings with mala sauce. For diners with a sweet tooth, enjoy Tapioca Cake with fragrant roasted coconut, Chocolate Cake and Affogato.

Joanne Lim, co-founder of Ebi Bar says, “Collaborating with like-minded local brands has always been a focal point for Ebi Bar and we are very pleased that the first collaboration we are going to have is with Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee. Tiong Hoe has a rich history and they believe in pushing themselves to create a better cup of coffee. At Ebi Bar, we are the same as we strive to provide the best prawn broth in Singapore. It is a perfect match.”

Jacob Tan, co-founder of Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee agrees, saying, “The thought of collaborating with Ebi Bar, is intriguing. We thought it would be very interesting to see how our coffees can pair with foods from a modern-Singaporean restaurant like Ebi Bar. I am very glad that after some R&D, we are able to create a menu that carries the essence of both brands. while still providing something very delicious to foodies in Singapore.”

Kick-start the festive celebrations with Ebi Bar’s Happy Days promotion, where every pint of craft beer from Lion Brewery Co is just $9.90.
