Food For Now: Tiong Bahru Bakery to open new outlets at Serangoon Gardens and Scotts Square

Tiong Bahru Bakery (TBB) is ending 2021 with a bang with two new outlets at the heart(s) of Singapore – the shopping heart and the northern heart that is. TBB Scott Square, the brand’s eight stores, opened this week. Housed in the luxurious shopping mall along bustling Orchard Road, it is a chic and calming oasis for a tete-a-tete. The ninth store, slated for mid December, is located at the charming Serangoon Gardens and is all about forging a strong community.

These two new outposts are part of TBB’s continuous commitment to offering the island consistent top quality French bakes at convenient locations, crafting of a buttery delicious space for people to come together and celebrate the neighbourhood. Beloved for its award-winning croissants and pastries baked with premium French ingredients and time-honoured techniques, each and every piece painstakingly handcrafted by our skilled artisan bakers. Having revolutionised the way locals enjoy baked goods and sparked off the French bakery trend here, TBB has also kick-started a Sourdough movement in the last year, creating a platform for everyone to come together to learn, feast and explore about this superb method of bread making.

Need a place to rest and decompress after a hard day shopping? TBB Scotts Square is just the spot. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Orchard Road, it is a comfy 36-seater, designed in sleek wood and marble and soothing green upholstery. Hand-painted artworks of our iconic bakes adorn the walls, while an arching wooden structure adds warmth and dimension.

Diners can expect nothing less than amazing viennoiseries, delicious sourdough breads, exquisite pastries and delectable coffee in addition to a Scotts Square exclusive, the Rooibos Kombucha! Created in collaboration with Wild Boocha and inspired by our popular Teh Tarik which is made from a Rooibos, this is the perfect thirst quencher with its fresh effervescent, tart palate and smooth earthy notes.

Come mid December 2021, the ninth Tiong Bahru Bakery will take roots at the heart of the vibrant enclave of Serangoon Gardens. Nestle smugly amid an eclectic mix of old school herbal shops, new fangled wellness studios and the iconic Chomp Chomp food centre, it is a long awaited celebration of neighbourhoods at the northern part of the island, spreading French buttery goodness and welcoming its inhabitants with its cozy village vibe.

A perfect spot for folks from the community to get together and be pampered with amazing bakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. ● 1 x Mira Juice (750ml) – made from apples grown in an ancient family orchard in Alsace, France
● 1 x La Trinquelinette Jam – Cynthia discovered this jam in France and it blew her taste buds. Handcrafted in small batches in the Trinquelin village just west of Burgundy.
● 1 x Le Beurre Bordier Butter – from St Malo’s most celebrated buerrista, the only French butter still ‘kneaded’ by hand using a wooden press
● 1 x Maison Carrère Foie Gras De Canard – award winning artisanal pate made without any nasties such as preservatives and flavour enhancers
