This National Day, homegrown culinary institution, At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy, will pay tribute to Singapore in celebrating the spirit of togetherness and being in unison with the efforts to share the importance of sustainability.
In celebration of the nation’s 56th birthday, At-Sunrice is honouring Singapore’s multi-ethnic diversity through its vibrant food culture with a takeout gourmet bundle to be enjoyed in the comfort of your home. The bundle is an ode to the culinary diversity in Singapore, consisting of Padang Beef Rendang with Turmeric Rice, an authentic Indonesian dish of tender beef stew slow cooked in rich coconut milk and aromatic spices; Kashmiri Lamb Shank with Basmati Pilaf Rice, a North Indian favourite with premium lamb shank simmered in a flavourful onion and tomato sauce infused with clove and cardamon spices; and Hong Kong Lap Mei Fan, a traditional Chinese claypot dish cooked with Calrose rice and an assorted of Chinese waxed meats like duck, liver, pork sausages and smoked pork belly.
Each bundle also includes a complimentary set of WellSpent© Ang Ku Kueh that is specially created for this special occasion. An innovative twist to the traditional Ang Ku Kueh, At-Sunrice’s version uses Moromi, a by-product from soy sauce production and spent (sidestreams) from jackfruit seeds filling for a sweet and savoury taste.
Available for purchase from now until 31st August 2021, the bundle is priced at S$86.40 and inclusive of:
• Padang Beef Rendang with Turmeric Rice (serves 2 to 3 persons)
• Kashmiri Lamb Shank with Basmati Pilaf Rice (serves 2 to 3 persons)
• Hong Kong Lap Mei Fan (serves 2 to 3 persons)
• Complimentary WellSpent© Ang Ku Kueh (5 pcs)
With sustainability being at the forefront of this year’s National Day Parade, At-Sunrice is playing its part in raising awareness on the impact of food wastage through one of its WellSpent© initiatives. Upholding the academy’s commitment on Sustainability with No Waste, At-Sunrice is constantly exploring different ways of upcycling food by combining spent (side streams) to traditional ingredients to produce novel eatables. WellSpent© is the name the Academy created for its initiatives on Sustainability with No Waste.
This National Day, the Academy is launching a limited time only WellSpent© High Tea takeout set with locally inspired sweet and savoury canapes that are made with spent ingredients such as Moromi (a by-product from soy sauce production), Okara (soybean pulp), Jackfruit Spent (filling from the seeds), Coconut Residue (by-product from the extraction of coconut milk) and Picked Mango Peel (leftover mango peels). Indulge in a smorgasbord of the following Peranakan, Malay and Chinese high tea delights.
Available for purchase from now until 31st August 2021, the high tea takeout set is priced at S$38 for one portion and S$68 for two portions, with an option to purchase a wooden high tea stand to elevate your dining experience at home for a leisurely afternoon tête-à-tête.
The National Day WellSpent© High Tea can also be enjoyed at the Sunday Luxe Series event on 29th August 2021 where the full-day event will transform At-Sunrice into an Academy of profound food discovery, experience and debate with different experiences specially designed to showcase the plethora of food and beverages from around the world focusing on the upcycled food economy driven by spent ingredients.
