It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, as local craft brewery Sunbird Brewing Company releases their limited time brew, the ‘Chocolate Mint Milk Stout’. But not only are they putting the taste of Christmas into their beer; they’re also putting their beer into a familiar Christmas favourite, with their Scottish-Ale Chocolate Log Cake, both of which you should absolutely leave our for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.
The Chocolate Mint Milk Stout contains aromatics of cacao nibs and mint from the first sip. From the creamy frothy head at the top to the semi sweet, slightly dry finish, this hearty yet well-rounded milk stout is a holiday beer best paired with a traditional British fruit cake or Christmas cookies. Head Brewer and Director of Sunbird Brewing Company Clive Tan shared his idea behind the stout comments: “When we think of Christmas , chocolate, spices, and a comforting drinking experience comes to mind. We want our final seasonal beer for 2020 to be a cosy and rewarding treat dedicated to fellow hard workers . With that thought and purpose in mind, we don’t think our brewing team could have whipped up a better recipe for this extra special time of the year.”
To make your Christmas complete, you’ll need a great log cake to go along with your meal. Partnering up with local establishment Little House of Dreams at Tiong Bahru, the team has launched a first-ever Scottish-Ale Chocolate Log Cake. The Scottish Ale Beer is Sunbird Brewing Company’s best-selling beer, with a pronounced malty caramel and roasted malt flavour that makes a perfect complement to the decadent chocolate cake. The beer is infused into both the batter and Swiss meringue buttercream for a robust burst of roasted malt flavour. Feuilletine flakes mixed with milk chocolate are combined into the log cake to provide an added dim ens ion and crunch in every bite.

Sunbird Brewing Company’s Chocolate Mint Milk Stout is now available through their online shop here, or at Little House of Dreams located at Tiong Bahru and a soon to be announced, a list of tap-rooms across Singapore. The ‘Naughty, Nice or Beer’ pack of 6 and 12 will be priced at $49.90 and $78.00 respectively and a special ‘To my Secret Santa’ mixed pack of 24 beers’ will be at $150, inclusive of free next-day delivery.
